The article isn’t about Putin or the level of prejudice applied to him by the US and other countries who won’t sell him subs. It is about the fact that he is free to make that decision to buy without stirring up a media frenzy.

Countries won’t sell Putin subs because the US says so, not because Putin is a dictator. That might come back to bite them when China is the one to strike a deal with him.

The US should be making friends with Russia right now not antagonising them.

But anyway, like I said, the article is about political systems not countries.
